Dot art paintings have been found in ancient sites in Australia, Africa, and South America, among others. Australian Aboriginal art is one of the most well-known and widespread examples of dot painting.
As far back as prehistoric times, Aboriginal artisans have been employing dots to create elaborate and profound designs. These images were frequently utilized for educational purposes, cultural transmission, and storytelling.
Dot art paintings were sometimes utilized in religious rituals. Dot art painting has acquired appeal as a contemporary art form in many parts of the world, and it continues to play an essential role in Indigenous cultures all around the globe.
Currently Dot art painting is an artistic technique of painting with an object of a small uniform size, such as a pen, brush or dotting tool in various sizes, by making the same movements over the surface and applying acrylic or glass paint in single dots or layering dots to form different shapes and textures. The dots are usually grouped to form basic shapes or to form intricate patterns or designs.
I create dot art paintings on an unlimited variety of surfaces such as canvas, functional pieces, wood, and vases.
